For those in a spirited mood an off road cycle track passes the front door of the Caravan Park linking North and South Gundagai and passing many of the towns historic sites. Fishing in the Murrumbidgee may reward you with a catch of trout, Murray Cod, Yellowbelly or Bream. You can enjoy a round of golf or bowls before heading for refreshments at the clubhouse, both within easy walking distance from the Caravan Park. A short self guided walking tour of the South Gundagai cemetery reveals one of Australia's rarest vegetation communities: White Box Woodlands and there is plenty of bird watching too!
For the history buff, Gundagai is rich in Australian folklore from the nearby Dog on the Tuckerbox to Captain Moonlight and his bushrangers. A dedicated team of volunteers has ensured that the Museum and the Railway station present visitors with a view into days past, with an enviable cache of memorabilia on display. The Court House and Goal are just two of the beautiful heritage buildings that make up the town centre while a private photographic documentation of early life in the town is on display at the Gabriel Gallery.
For those who like to take home a memento of your stay, Gundagai has a number of cellar doors and art and craft for sale from Internationally renowned artists to local craftspeople. There are a number of options for local dining or use the Caravan Park as a base for day trips.
